Capsule

Special design from HOBO engineers

Soft‑Edge Form

Capsule features a smooth, softened edge that gives the fixture a refined, understated presence. Its rounded geometry removes any sense of harshness, allowing the form to feel calm, balanced, and visually light. This gentle contour highlights the fixture’s precision while adding a subtle elegance that elevates both modern and minimal interiors.

Architectural Versatility

Capsule is designed for architectural projects that demand both aesthetic clarity and functional flexibility. Its soft‑edge form integrates naturally into contemporary spaces, while the wide range of colors, finishes, and mounting options allows it to adapt to ceilings of different types and heights. The fixture supports designers by offering a clean geometry that enhances the composition of the space and a modular system that fits diverse project requirements.

Sizes

Capsule comes in multiple sizes that scale cleanly across different spaces. Each dimension preserves the same soft‑edge geometry, ensuring a unified look throughout the lighting project.

Variable Heights

Capsule maintains a consistent 6 cm diameter while offering multiple height options to suit different spatial compositions. The adjustable height range allows the fixture to scale from subtle accents to more pronounced vertical elements, all while preserving the same soft‑edge geometry and unified visual identity.

Optical Performance Options

Capsule is available in two optical systems: a lens engine for smooth, uniform illumination and a reflector engine that delivers higher output with more defined beam control. The reflector model provides stronger light treatment and crisp distribution, while the lens version offers softer transitions and balanced visual comfort. Together, they give designers the flexibility to match performance to the needs of each space.

Reflector Engine

The reflector model offers a more defined beam profile with crisp edges and strong center intensity, making it suitable for focused highlighting and precise spatial accents. It comes in three beam angles—14°, 24°, and 36°—providing a full range from narrow punch to wider general illumination. Its engineered reflector geometry enhances efficiency while preserving the soft‑edge aesthetic of the Capsule form.

Lens Engine

The lens version of Capsule delivers controlled, uniform illumination with a softer beam transition ideal for refined architectural lighting. It is available in three beam angles—17°, 24°, and 36°—allowing designers to choose between tighter accents or broader washes while maintaining excellent visual comfort. The optical lens ensures smooth distribution and consistent performance across different ceiling heights and applications.

Light control

Capsule offers a wide spectrum of light color, from very warm tones ideal for intimate, atmospheric spaces to cooler whites suited for clean, functional environments. For projects requiring dynamic control, Capsule is also available as tunable white, allowing designers to shift the light temperature throughout the day to match mood, activity, or circadian‑friendly lighting strategies.

Model Selection Notes

Capsule offers both reflector and lens models, but smaller sizes require the lens engine due to optical depth limitations. The reflector version, while delivering higher output and stronger beam control, needs more internal height and is therefore not suitable for compact formats. The lens model ensures consistent performance across all sizes, especially where minimal height is essential.

Finishing

Finishing options

Capsule’s three‑piece construction and multiple installation models allow each component to be finished independently. The body, canopy, and trimless or recessed elements can all be specified in different colors, using either painted finishes from a wide RAL range or numerous anodized tones. This flexibility supports complex design palettes, enabling precise color matching or intentional contrast across every installation type.

Capsule can be specified for specialized architectural environments where precise optical control, independent component finishing, and size‑based engine selection allow designers to align performance and appearance with exact project requirements.

Capsule supports highly precise finish selection, offering an extensive range of painted and anodized options—including closely related tonal families such as coordinated browns—allowing designers to match materials, palettes, and architectural intent with exact chromatic control.

Capsule allows precise chromatic control through a wide range of painted tones and anodized finishes, and the ability to combine subtle painted grain textures with anodized surfaces creates exceptionally refined material compositions suitable for advanced architectural detailing.

Complete Design Package

Capsule brings every essential element into one unified system—optics, sizes, finishes, installation methods, and performance options—allowing designers to specify the entire solution from a single, coherent product family. From precise optical engines to extensive finishing choices and adaptable mounting systems, everything required to meet architectural intent is fully integrated and available within the Capsule line.

Capsule’s finishing system spans from classic, executive‑grade selections to youthful, vibrant options, enabling designers to specify a single product family that performs equally well in a professional director’s office and a child‑oriented environment.

System Integration

Capsule is fully compatible with HOBO’s broader architectural systems, allowing it to merge seamlessly into SOLID structures or mount within HOBO’s 48V track platforms. This interoperability lets designers unify different lighting typologies—pendants, linear systems, and spot modules—under one coordinated design language. With shared finishes, optical options, and installation logic, Capsule becomes part of a larger modular ecosystem that adapts to diverse architectural programs.
